The manor house, which was formerly privately used, was converted into a small coffee house with a beer garden around 1913 by the great-grandparents of the current owner and quickly became an institution for passing walkers and cyclists. Thus the offer was extended to include hearty delicacies.
Due to the demand, three unused private rooms were converted into guest rooms by the next generation and a hall was built for all kinds of celebrations. This was also the beginning of warm cuisine. Bowling alleys were added and a bird shooting pole was erected.
Due to the settlement of the originally sparsely populated area with private houses and industry and commerce, the father of the current owner ventured into the hotel business and built the first part and shortly afterwards the second part of the accommodation business. The rooms were equipped with separate electricity and water connections so that they could be quickly converted into flats if necessary. As the project was successful, a third hotel part followed in a separate building with its own breakfast room. The first conferences were offered in the basement of the main building and were well received.
After the restaurant had been leased out for 9 years, it was taken back into the family’s remit. The hall was demolished and a new building complex was erected.
Over the years, many other conversions and renovations were carried out.
Today, the hotel, now run by the fourth generation, comprises 80 hotel rooms, 6 variable event and conference rooms, as well as the restaurant located in the main building.
